The kíaroLED® is a versatile new line of LED luminaires that provides a lighting solution for efficiently controlling backlight, uplight, and glare in an extensive range of outdoor environments. Ideal for parking areas, residential streets and public roadways, parks and recreational spaces, hotels and resorts, campuses, and wall-mount architectural lighting, kíaroLED® provides a solution for energy saving and dark sky projects.
SAFETY
Quality design and light source longevity make kíaroLED® luminaires a low-maintenance solution, reducing the number of service calls in dangerous environments. Greater Color Rendering Index (CRI) and uniformity, compared to high-pressure sodium lamps, improve task visibility and add security in dark locations.
THE ENVIRONMENT
All components follow RoHS guidelines limiting the use of environmentally hazardous materials. KíaroLED® is a low-maintenance solution with lumen maintenance greater than 70% after 100,000 hours with an expected luminaire life of 20 years if used an average of 8 hours per day. This is a sustainable solution ideal for applications where service is a safety concern or re-lamping is costly.
EFFICIENCY
The kíaroLED® is more efficient than many traditional light sources, which is ideal since lower energy consumption is an environmental and economic goal for most facility managers, utility companies and municipalities. Environmental awareness combined
with legislation are crucial reasons to adopt this new technology.
QUALITY OF LIGHT
KíaroLED® provides lighting designers the freedom to specify the luminaire's color temperature, allowing the choice between warmer and cooler colors. Precision optics, improved color, and superior uniformity provide an enhanced level of visual acuity. The kíaroLED® has a color rendering index greater than high-pressure sodium sources, allowing improved recognition of images in the dark – valuable for parking lots, street lighting or outdoor retail environments.
DURABILITY
The kíaroLED® does not contain a breakable filament component. This makes it a great alternative for applications where there are vibration issues such as bridges, areas with heavy traffic, freeway underpasses and in high-wind locations.
ELECTRONICS
Designed with instant-start technology, kíaroLED® eliminates re-strike concerns. Exceptional performance in cold climate applications makes it a superior alternative to fluorescent light sources. In addition to the standard features, kíaroLED® offers photocells, late-night dimming, and self-adjusting current control.
OPTICAL VERSATILITY
Optical distribution patterns, lumen levels and color temperatures are interchangeable and easily replaceable. The luminaire provides
IES Type II, Type III, Type IV and Type V distribution patterns.
PRECISION LIGHTING
The kíaroLED® contains highly efficient custom optics. The luminaire achieves high efficiencies by extracting significant lumens at
a low wattage. Precise positioning of lumens results in a reduction of light trespass. The new kíaroLED® provides unrivaled optical
performance with tailored optics to achieve desired illumination levels.
Traditional light sources have less desirable uniformity creating 'dark spots' in the photometric design. These dark spots become more
dramatic over the life of the luminaire. Lighting designers compensate for dark spots by over-lighting a space, which increases energy
consumption. The uniformity provided by the custom optics used in kíaroLED® allows specifiers to reduce the initial amount of lumens
required to light a space.
CURRENT CONTROL & AUTO SHUT-OFF
The new kíaroLED® self-regulating current control option increases the current to compensate for lumen depreciation, resulting in extended luminaire life, additional energy savings and reduced maintenance costs. The auto shut-off option ensures luminaire light levels will never be less than 70% of the initial lumen output.
LATE-NIGHT DIMMING & MOTION SENSING
To extend life, provide energy savings, and reduce maintenance costs, the occupancy sensor delivers 100% intensity on start-up then 50% intensity after four hours of operation. When motion is again detected, the luminaire returns to full power.
THERMAL PROTECTION CONTROL
A thermal resistor monitors the board temperature to make certain that the LEDs do not over-heat as ambient conditions rise. Thermal protection control protects against exceeding the rated temperatures to ensure lumens, efficiency and life.
Photocell Options
Photocell Options include an internal NEMA photocell receptacle or for sleeker architectural environments a button type photocell is available.
